Innovative Strategies for Weight Loss: Sound and Music

We already know that music helps you to exercise…visit any park during lunch hour any you will see any army of office workers marching or jogging about completely deaf…their walk-mans or i-pods firmly in place, excluding all sound, and energising them to keep on going…where-ever it is that they are going.

We also know that music can initiate exercise. Recognise that I-can’t-keep-still-feeling you get when an especially irresistible song is played loudly in your immediate vicinity?

And we know that calm, soothing music can relax and reassure us…at more or less any age.

Some researchers propose that baroque music can make you study better. (not when you are auditory orientated, it won’t !)

Hynotic Sound Effects

Hypnotic scripts are often recorded with back-ground music/ sound-effects.

When you record your own scripts, you can choose the exact music or sounds that make a hypnosis session effective FOR YOU. Indeed, it doesn’t have to be music…some people prefer the haunting calls of whales, or the sounds in a forest, or the sound of crashing waves…the choice is limitless.

And you can find recordings of just about anything on the internet now. Maybe you associate a certain song or sound with comfort and serenity, record it then during the induction phase of your script. Another song may remind you of a time when you were happy and confident…use it with a confidence script. The effect is subtle, but powerful. It functions like an auditory anchor…but will only work if you are NOT auditory orientated.

The Papillon Program will guide you to find out exactly what your preferred perceptual mode is. It also contains detailed info about other strategies for weight loss.

Music and weight loss have been linked for many years now. Use music or sound to:

stimulate you when you feel too lazy to exercise

relax you when you feel stressed and your mind is spinning

distract you when you feel like devouring everything in the fridge

help you concentrate when you are studying

or as background to your self-hypnosis sessions.

Can Music cure diease?

Music therapy is a fascinating discipline…does music actually heal disease? According to the American Music Therapy Association “Music Therapy is an established healthcare profession that uses music to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals of all ages. Music therapy interventions can be designed to:

• promote wellness

• manage stress

• alleviate pain

• express feelings

• enhance memory

• improve communication

Live music was used in hospitals after both of the World Wars, as part of the regime for some recovering soldiers. Music therapy was pioneered in the 60s and 70s by French cellist Juliette Alvin, The unique qualities of music as therapy can enhance communication, support change, and enable people to live more resourcefully and creatively.

The influence of music on our life’s every day cannot be ignored, and certainly mustn’t be underestimated. Protect yourself against noise pollution and prevent damage to your hearing with your i-pod…turn the volume DOWN!

Use sound and music wisely, especially if you use it as back ground during hypnosis recordings.
